How to style an asymmetrical maxi skirt for your everyday plans

Falda Waterproof · Mostaza · Producto

A long asymmetrical skirt looks different from the front and the side. That difference already adds interest to an outfit: you can pair it with simple garments and let the hem do the rest. The WrapJKT Waterproof Skirt features an elastic waist, a tie, and side pockets.

With a shirt: one part loose, the other tucked in

A plain shirt lets you see the color and shape of the Waterproof Skirt clearly. You can tuck in the front slightly to show the tie and leave the back loose, or wear the whole shirt untucked if that feels more comfortable.

Don’t wear the waist higher just to imitate a photo. Choose the height you like and check where the hem falls with your shoes. The drape depends on that position and on your height.

With a T-shirt: an easy-to-repeat outfit

A simple T-shirt works for a walk or a casual meal. If the skirt is a bright color, try White or a shade you wear often. If you’ve chosen a subtle color, you can add contrast on top.

The side pockets are part of the garment. Look at their openings in the detail photos: they also show how the skirt drapes when you rest your hands in them. Avoid overloading them if you want to preserve that drape.

With a jacket: consider the line of the front

The Waterproof jacket shares the skirt’s fabric and the same 26 colors. Worn open, it reveals the waist and tie; fastened, it highlights the double collar and wrap front.

For a coordinated outfit, choose the same color name for both pieces. For contrast, first try a shade you already have in your wardrobe. See the Waterproof jacket and skirt outfit guide for more ideas.

How to choose shoes and check the length

The sample measures approximately 80 cm at the front and 100 cm at the back, from the waist to each hem. The 20 cm difference is part of the design. The side view is a good way to understand this asymmetry.

Try a shoe you feel comfortable walking in, and compare the back length with a skirt of your own. The photo doesn’t show exactly where it will fall on your body. Whether you wear flats or heels, make sure you can walk and step up without stepping on the fabric.

Choose a combination you can wear in more than one way

Picture the skirt on its own with your shirt, the jacket with a pair of pants, and then both pieces together. That way, you can choose an outfit based on the occasions you’ll wear it for, without needing to wear both pieces at the same time.

Waterproof is the name of this collection: it shares the same fabric as the windbreaker jacket, but we don’t present the skirt as a technical waterproof garment. To learn more about the fit, see its pockets, waistband, and measurements. Explore the skirt collection.
